John Lennon said "Life is what happens whilst we're busy making other plans." Planning is important. Having goals is important. It is also vital that we are conscious of what our life is now and that we have gratitude for what we have in our lives including friends and family. If we lose this gratitude apart from making ourselves unhappy we are also in danger of damaging precious relationships.
This year I was able to cook a little food for friends and eat it outside. It reminded me of the importance of friendship and giving even in small ways. It seems there is often a temptation to focus on our individual success but it seems that a most success comes in the form of giving to others and that financial compensation is often a byproduct of this.
