Tolerating discomfort to be successful.

This is a very important idea and one my father was aware of. What holds us back and separates us from our dreams is dislike of being uncomfortable. I can run 5km and feel relaxed throughout but that is only because of running I have done that feels uncomfortable. The way to think is: if I can persuade myself to tolerate this discomfort now a more comfortable future awaits me. Important changes to our life can at first seem uncomfortable and therefore off-putting. For example having to study for new exams; wouldn't it be easier just to continue with what you already know? Can you face the discomfort of being single so that you can move on from an unhealthy relationship? Your health could benefit from alcohol free days but you might feel comfortable with the daily glass of wine or bottle of beer. What is clear is that it is incredibly important to make conscious decisions to improve our lives despite the discomfort involved; effectively it means that one thought will be powerful enough to override another thought that could impede our development!
