Such a popular topic these days. A key point about our brains is that they require nutrition to function properly. I like to eat unprocessed foods such as broccoli, leeks. I am not vegetarian but a lot of protein in my diet comes from fish .Protein is important for brain function. Omega 3 is good for brain function. I also like good quality organic chicken although I am aware of research showing that chicken might be harmful. Moderation has to be key with diet.I eat daily oats. There are so many diets and there are plenty of examples of great people with unhealthy diets and very flawed people with healthy diets. Warren Buffet eats 'Macdonald's' every day and succeed in giving tens of billions of dollars to charity.

Here is a key fact: 36.5% of U.S. adults have obesity (CDC).Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and cancers. Of course exercise plays a role and some are luckier than others in terms of genes that determine physical build and metabolism; no doubt genes also play a role in relation to heart conditions and cancer.

The key point is that we can choose to take control of our diet. My contention is that control is relevant to the types, quality and quantity of food we ingest; by controlling our diet we can exercise some control over a significant influence on our state of mind.
